TOP TIPS:
Note the photo at left. The car was composed in the lower half of the photo - we find this looks best and works well with Instagram crop restrictions. Ample room was left at the left, right, and bottom of the car, as well. Too close to the edges, and the car will start looking distorted. This is because smartphone cameras have much wider fields of view than the human eye. Not to mention a looser crop looks better. |
You may have noticed that we at MCS love cars. Almost as much as we love cars themselves, we love photographing them, posting them, talking about them, and sharing our love for them with the world.
Taking photos of cars can be easy, and the best part is that you can do it anywhere there's a road...if you're quick enough! You don't even need a $4k camera to take brilliant pics.
Beautiful cars deserve flattering photos, so we've put below some lessons we've learned over the years of how to make the best 'on the road' spots you can.
This guide is intended for the casual spotter and avid car enthusiast alike, who are taking photos with a mobile phone.
