As far as new arrivals and car events go, November was a big month for Melbourne! The perfect month for which to kick off this new series: introducing, The Best of the Month on MCS, a once-monthly blog post in which we will cover the biggest news items regarding the supercar scene in Melbourne. Namely, car events and new arrivals.
You'll be able to read up on news and info in slightly more detail than we are able cover on our Instagram and Facebook posts.
For November, we kick off with the delivery of two new Ferrari 458 Speciales.

For November, we kick off with the delivery of two new Ferrari 458 Speciales.
Because we all know one Rosso 458 isn't enough, right? Of course. Don't be silly here.
This is the first of two Speciales new to Melbourne sitting pretty with the owner's old Italia. And pretty she is - the omission of either of the two stripe options in the spec package is tasteful in my mind. The Speciale stripes just don't sit as well as the Scuderia's seemed to. However, it only took a matter of days for the owner to organise to have some added aftermarket - it's not the first time they have been stuck on later, given they are a $19,000 option!

And don't expect this to stay 100% stock. The Italia at the right of the above photo is riddled with aftermarket additions and modifications. He's had it on three different sets of wheels over the years, and added (and occasionally removed) various Novitec Rosso mods, including (but definitely not limited to) a full carbon-fibre engine bay. | Photo courtesy of Jordan Mayer |
The video at right shows the second Speciale to have hit Melbourne in the month of November. It's specified in gorgeous Bianco Avus with factory black stripes. A very tidy package. At least two more Speciales are scheduled to land in Melbourne just in time for Christmas. | Video courtesty of Michael Imbrogno |

November also saw a new Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 land in town. Not brand-new, but new to Melbourne - its previous owner lived in Sydney where it was frequently spotted. It was sent down courtesy of Scuderia Graziani on Crown Street, Sydney. How kind of them, really. Even the owner's previous matt black LP570 Superleggera was shipped down here when he sold it.
Like his Superleggera, the Aventador has subtle highlights, including coloured badging.

A historic racing meet was held at Sandown on the 9th of the month. Like last year, it brought several Ferraris making for an impressive display. Browse the photos below:
P1 Frenzy! Now this was unexpected, and perhaps the biggest news item of the month!

Yep, a McLaren P1 has landed in Melbourne! Initial thoughts were that it was a customer car, however it has since been revealed to be a McLaren-owned show car, the same one they unveiled to the world at the Geneva Motorshow last year. Unfortunately, it is not expected to hang around town for long. It's scheduled to be sent to Sydney on December 8.
I was fortunate enough to see it at the showroom myself. Its presence is unlike anything else.

As if a P1 sighting wasn't enough, there were also numerous sightings of Australia's sole McLaren F1 on November 26, just a day after the P1 surfaced! It was photographed below by James in Lorimer Street, Fishermans Bend. It was later spotted at the dealership in Southbank, where the P1 was, strangely, nowhere to be seen.
What to expect in December:
Now that November is behind us, what can we hope to see in December? For a start, we can definitely expect to continue seeing new Huracán's rolling in. Also hopefully one or two Speciales, one of which is specified very uniquely. I look forward to posting it!
As far as new models go, the Lexus RC is definitely one to watch. Though the RC F isn't slated to go on sale until next year, there are one or two floating around, so keep your eyes peeled.
